Energy Regulation Skills for Kids: A Virtual Skill Building Program
This virtual skill-building program helps children develop energy regulation skills, focusing on self-regulation, mindfulness, emotional awareness, and stress management through calming routines. It emphasizes mindfulness, allowing children to notice their bodies and feelings. Neurodivergent children, who may experience sensory input and emotions intensely, benefit from concrete tools to manage overwhelming feelings.
-
Routines provide predictability and a sense of safety.
-
One practice involves placing hands on their heart and taking slow breaths to promote calmness.
-
The program teaches children to focus their attention mindfully, helping them manage stress and dysregulation.
-
Techniques include concentrating on comforting objects or using imagination to visualize safety and relaxation.
These strategies support children's nervous systems, fostering a sense of regulation and control.
Children receive kid-friendly digital handouts (coloring page style) that introduce simple, repeatable self-care strategies they can practice independently or with caregiver support. Caregivers are also provided with clear guidance and coaching tips to help reinforce these skills at home, supporting consistency and generalization of learning.
The program includes a private 30-minute live virtual session delivered through Zoom or FaceTime, allowing children to participate from the comfort and safety of their home. The online format increases accessibility and reduces barriers related to travel, sensory overload, or fatigue.
Each child receives a Energy Regulation Skills for Kids Certificate of Completion, emailed to the family for their records. The Energy Healing for Kids certificate, personalized with the child's name, instills a profound sense of achievement.
Ongoing caregiver support through email is included at no extra cost—families are encouraged to reach out with questions or for clarification to ensure the strategies are being used effectively and safely at home.
