Reiki Sessions for Adults and Children
Experience the gentle, supportive energy of Usui Reiki, Kundalini Reiki, Karuna Reiki®, Tera Mai Reiki® and Celtic Reiki. Sessions may also include crystals, pendulum energy work and chakra balancing, based on each person’s comfort and preferences.
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a gentle, non-invasive complementary wellness practice. During a session, Reiki is offered through gentle touch when the person is comfortable and agrees, or with the practitioner’s hands held just above or near the body.
Reiki sessions may offer an opportunity for:
Deep relaxation and peaceful time
Comfort and emotional support
Easing feelings of stress or overwhelm
Chakra balancing and harmonization
Supporting a sense of calm and emotional balance
Increased energy and overall well-being
Everyone experiences Reiki differently. Some people feel deeply relaxed, while others notice warmth, peacefulness or a renewed sense of energy.
Reiki is a complementary wellness practice and is not a replacement for medical care, therapy or other professional support. It may be used alongside the care you are already receiving.
Gentle, Adaptable Reiki Sessions
At Cedar Cove Wellness, Reiki sessions welcome adults and children of all abilities, including neurodivergent people, people with Down syndrome, and people with other exceptionalities or disabilities.
Each session is tailored to the individual’s communication style, sensory needs, comfort, preferences and boundaries. A person does not need to lie still on a treatment table, close their eyes or remain quiet to receive Reiki.
During a session, adults and children may choose to:
Sit in a chair or lie on a couch or treatment table
Stand, move around or change positions
Talk, colour, draw or play quietly
Listen to music or enjoy a familiar activity
Hold a favourite comfort item
Take breaks whenever needed
Have a parent, caregiver or support person nearby
There is no “right” way to receive Reiki. Each session is shaped around what helps the person feel safe, comfortable and supported.
Parents, caregivers and support people are welcome to share information about communication preferences, sensory sensitivities, comfort items and anything else that may help create a positive experience.
One-Hour Reiki Sessions
A one-hour Reiki session for adults is $70.
For an in-person session, you are welcome to bring a 100% cotton towel or blanket. With your permission, Reiki may be offered to the item at no additional charge so you can take it home as a comforting reminder of your experience.
Reiki for Children
Children’s in-person Reiki sessions are approximately 30 to 40 minutes and are $50.
A parent or guardian remains with the child during the session. Children may sit, lie down, move around, colour, play or enjoy a familiar activity. Fun and self-expression are always welcome.
Your child may bring a favourite stuffed animal, blanket or other meaningful comfort item. With permission, Reiki may also be offered to the item.
Gentle Reiki sessions may provide children with quiet time, comfort and an opportunity to relax. Every child responds differently, and the session is adapted to their individual needs and preferences.
Distance and Remote Reiki Sessions
Distance Reiki sessions are available for adults, children, pets and other animals. Reiki may be offered remotely using a photograph or through Zoom.
Distance Reiki using a photograph: $50
Distance Reiki through Zoom: $50
A time for the approximately 40-minute session will be arranged in advance. During the session, you may relax in a quiet, comfortable place. Susan will follow up with you by email afterward.
